Acolytes

Worship services are for all ages. Our children can serve the Lord and participate in worship by being Acolytes. At an early age, our young people can assist the Rector, participate in liturgy, and serve the parish. Contact Rev Jason Miller for more information.

Adult Sunday School

"It's All About Jesus" is a fascinating class focusing on the events, miracles, and teachings of Christ from the four Gospels. Lively and always inspiring, our adult Sunday School class includes intriguing information about culture, geography, history, and customs during the time of Christ. Whether you are a long-time Christian or a new believer, this class will encourage you in your walk with the Lord. Come join us! Contact Jan Dargatz for more information.

Alpha

Many CHS parishioners either became Christians or deepened their walk with the Lord through this amazing 12-week program. If you have not been through Alpha yet, make plans to come and see what God is doing. Bring your family! Bring a friend! We meet every Wednesday night for dinner, then watch a tape and have small group discussion. If you have questions about Jesus, the Bible, the Holy Spirit, and worship, Alpha is the perfect place to get some answers. Even if you’ve been a believer a long time, you’ll thoroughly enjoy Alpha. Contact Joe Phillips for more information.

Alpha Sprouts

Alpha isn’t just for grown-ups. Children grades K2 to 6 can also learn and share together! The same topics discussed in the adult group are taught in the children’s program in a fun and creative way. Contact Janet Burgess and Lacie Troxell for more information.

Altar Guild

Where would we be without this loving group of servants who beautify our altar week after week and year after year. From high holy days to daily Eucharist, the Altar Guild serves the Lord with a sweet spirit. Hardly a day goes by that you don't spot one of these special people serving quietly and readying the altar for worship. Contact Charlotte Hillenburg for more information.

service and evangelism including helping our priest and undertaking projects that support our church. Contact Nancy Diley for more information.

Boy Scouts

This terrific group of boys serve this parish and community with dozens of ministry projects. They are earning badges and learning responsibility and good citizenship. We are proud of these young men and thank them for all their hard work. Contact Vic Ham for more information.

Bread Ministry

Every visitor to our Sunday worship services has the opportunity to receive a little surprise later in the day. Whenever visitors sign in our register with their street address, a member of our Bread Ministry drops over a loaf of freshly baked homemade bread to their home as a gift of friendship. Contact Art and Londa Hershberger for more information.

Card Ministry

Little daily reminders of God’s love can mean so much. Many of us have received a card during a hospital stay, after a funeral, in a time of crisis, or other times when we’ve needed a prayer, a hug, or a word of encouragement. Contact Nancy Sullenger for more information.

Chalice Bearers

From helping to serve Eucharist to assisting the Rector to participating in liturgy, our chalice bearers minister to parishioners throughout the service. Many details and centuries of tradition are involved with the ministry of chalice bearers. Contact Rev Jason Miller for more information.

Chancel Choir

About a dozen times a year, our parish is treated to special choral music by our Chancel Choir. The choir meets weekly to work on this worship music. But it's not just about hard work. In addition to rehearsing, the choir shares a devotional, spends time in prayer together, fellowship together, and usually you'll see choir members laughing and talking (and sometimes playing little jokes on one another). Contact Diane Kunkel for more information.

Christian Education

Outreach Ministries

Jesus’ words in Matthew 25 guide us: “…For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me….Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of my family, you did it to me.” CHS Outreach strives to serve those in physical need and who are often seen as outcasts in our society.  Our goal is to provide year-round ministry and to encourage participation by all CHS members and groups, from toddlers to adults. Contact Melissa Dalton for more information.

Prayer opportunities include prayer teams who minister at the altar during each service, individuals to pray during each service, and people willing to pray all week long for our church. Small Groups

Sharing together as a church family is one of the most important -- and exciting -- things we do. CHS has several small groups meeting regularly to study the Bible, pray for one another, have fellowship, and worship the Lord. People in CHS Small Groups find they don't have to go through anything alone -- whether it's a celebration, an accomplishment, or a tragedy. We're there for one another to pray, comfort, and cheer. Here are our small groups:

Ushers/Hosts/Greeters

A smile, a handshake, a welcome. A worship bulletin, a tidy church, a question answered. Little things can mean so much. Our hosts and greeters serve parishioners and visitors alike by greeting everyone who comes to worship with us, giving directions, and answering questions. Before services, ushers assist in distributing bulletins and helping people get seated. During the service, ushers help with the offering, Eucharist, prayer cards, and other needs. After the service, ushers help gather friendship registries and tidying the nave.  Contact Suzanne Sandoval for more information
